To assist you, we've compiled answers to common questions about The Buttery & Glasshouse.

  • Can we get married at The Buttery & Glasshouse?

    Yes, we are a licensed wedding venue since 2012 offering various ceremony spaces, indoors and outdoors, including The Buttery (barn-style room perfect for civil ceremonies), The Terrace (outdoor space in the courtyard) , and The Glasshouse (retractable domed roof and sliding glass doors).


  • What is the capacity of the venue?

    We can accommodate 150 guests for a barbecue or buffet-style wedding breakfast, 100 for civil ceremonies and 100 for seated wedding breakfast. 


  • Are the wedding packages flexible?

    Absolutely. Our packages are customisable to suit your preferences, ensuring your special day reflects your vision. The Buttery & Glasshouse is open all year round, winter and summer, Monday to Sunday. It looks stunning for small and large weddings. For these reasons we can always offer couples a quote to suit their budget.

  • Are there any hidden costs?

    No, we believe in transparent pricing. All costs are discussed upfront to avoid surprises. All prices include VAT.


  • Do you offer payment plans?

    Yes, we offer payment plans and they are interest free.


  • Do you provide on-site accommodation?

    Yes, we offer boutique bedrooms for guests staying overnight. We have 11 ensuite double bedrooms, one or two of them will be reserved as the bridal suite and groom’s room.


    There are also hotels within 2 miles of The Buttery & Glasshouse, including Premier Inn Maidstone/Sevenoaks and Holiday Inn Maidstone.

  • Are there nearby hotels for additional guests?

    Yes, there are Premier Inn Maidstone/Sevenoaks and Holiday Inn Maidstone both within 2 miles of The Buttery & Glasshouse.


  • Is parking available?

    Yes, we have 40 parking spaces, plus free on-street parking in the village.



  • Can we decorate the venue ourselves?

    Yes, you're very welcome to personalise the space to suit your style. We can also reccomend trusted venue stylists and decorators to help bring your vision to life.

  • Is early setup possible?

    Depending on availability, early setup (or even the day-before setup) can be arranged, potentially for an additional fee.


  • Can we have live music or a DJ?

    Yes, DJ’s & Disco receptions and indoors live performers are welcome.  Outdoor amplified music is subject to restrictions. We also welcome live bands inside The Bull Hotel.


  • Is your venue suitable for winter weddings?

    Yes, our The Buttery & Glasshouse is equipped to handle all seasons, providing comfort year-round. Our winter wedding packages are designed to make the most of the season.

  • Do you offer wedding packages for December?

    The Bull hotel is perfect for Christmas weddings - cosy fires, a warm atmosphere, boutique rooms with The Glasshouse magically decorated for the Christmas season.

    Yes, to comply with local regulations and ensure guest comfort.


  • What provisions are there for adverse weather?

    We have contingency plans, including covered areas, to ensure your event proceeds smoothly and looks stunning.


  • Are there good photo opportunities on-site?

    Yes, our venue and surrounding areas offer picturesque settings for memorable photos. Fields, historic buildings, medieval churchyard, spectacular glasshouse and barn-style venues and much more.


  • Do you offer menu customisation?

    Yes, our chefs with an outstanding reputation provide the in-house catering and can tailor menus to your tastes and dietary requirements.

  • Can we bring our own alcohol?

    We do not offer corkage; however, our fully stocked bar provides a wide selection of beers, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks and wines.


  • What is the booking process?

    Once you receive and approve the bespoke quote and sign the contract for your wedding package, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your chosen date. We will also schedule the following instalments.


  • Do you offer payment plans?

    Yes, we provide interest-free payment plans to accommodate your budgeting needs.


  • Do you offer wedding planning assistance?

    Yes, our experienced wedding coordinators are available to help plan and execute your vision. The wedding coordinators strive to provide the most individualised and dedicated approach to inspire confidence in their couples.
