Tucked behind the 16th-century Bull Hotel, The Glasshouse is an exclusive-use wedding venue in Wrotham, Kent.
Four connected spaces — The Buttery Barn, a 16th-century ceremony space; The Glasshouse itself, a purpose-built 126m² contemporary reception space; The Terrace, a private outdoor courtyard; and our Lounge Bar — sit alongside The Bull Hotel, our boutique inn, with in-house chef-led catering, pamper room and ensuite bedrooms on site.

The Buttery Barn.
Originally built to store food, butts of beer and wine for the hotel, our historic oak-beamed barn is now where wedding ceremonies happen.

Floor-to-ceiling south-facing sliding glass doors, a retractable domed roof, and a clean architectural feel that transforms between day and night - bright and airy in the afternoon, then re-lit once the sun goes down.
The Terrace.
Framed by an ancient stone wall and softened with greenery, The Terrace is the outdoor courtyard connecting The Buttery Barn and The Glasshouse.

Exclusive to our Indulgent Wedding package, Calm Before the Confetti gives you the keys to The Glasshouse from 3pm the day before your celebration until 10.30am the following morning. Nearly 48 hours in total.
That extra half-day
changes everything.
Suppliers arrive without rushing. Florists style at their proper pace. Table plans, signage, favours and every small personal touch you have thought about for months can be placed exactly where you imagined them, calmly, without the stress of a wedding morning countdown.
And it’s not only The Glasshouse you’ll have access to. Our Honeymoon Suite is also yours from 3pm, giving you space to hang your dresses and suits, enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep and wake up right here at your wedding venue.

Every wedding at The Glasshouse begins with a conversation about your dream day.
Most venues offer one style of wedding on their best dates. We offer two, and neither is a scaled-back version of the other: a full, classic Indulgent Wedding, or a Deluxe Twilight celebration.
Whichever you choose, the venue, the team and the hospitality are the same.
The Indulgent Wedding.
Our complete Glasshouse celebration, with Calm Before the Confetti, pamper room, ceremony, three-course wedding breakfast, evening party celebration and overnight stay.
Deluxe Twilight Weddings.
A different kind of twilight with a later ceremony, available on prime Friday and Saturday dates, including spring and summer, with the option of an outdoor ceremony.
Intimate Wedding.
Smaller guest lists, deeper connection, and a celebration entirely focused on the people who matter most.
Late Availability
Selected dates released for couples planning sooner, with the same considered experience on a shorter timescale.

Every dish is prepared in-house by our own chefs, from scratch. No outsourced catering. Just a genuine restaurant kitchen led by people who care about food, cooking for the wedding they are catering that day and no other.

Choose from a three-course à la carte wedding breakfast served with table wine, or our signature Smokehouse Feast, a generous meal prepared on our Texas Ole Hickory smoker, imported directly from Texas.
Menus are seasonal, produce is sourced from Kent suppliers where possible, and dietary requirements are met properly rather than accommodated at the edges.

The Glasshouse sits beside The Bull Hotel, a boutique inn with nine ensuite guest bedrooms styled with Laura Ashley furnishings and modern comforts.
Couples stay in the spacious Honeymoon Suite; the closest guests stay just steps away. No taxis at the end of the night, no navigating dark country roads, no early goodbyes. Just an easy walk upstairs, deep sleep in crisp linen, and a Full English breakfast the following morning.

The Honeymoon suit also offers Pamper Room facilities, a spacious, space for the wedding morning: mirrors, natural light, a large sitting area, ensuite bath and shower, so hair, make-up and the whole start-of-day feels calm rather than rushed.
Where is The Glasshouse?
The Glasshouse is the wedding venue at The Bull Lane in the historic village of Wrotham, Kent, TN15 7RF, at the foot of the North Downs.
It is approximately forty minutes by car from central London, ten minutes from Sevenoaks, and within easy reach of Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Maidstone and Bromley.
Just 40 minutes from London,
yet it feels like another world.
The nearest railway stations are Borough Green & Wrotham (direct trains from London Victoria) and Sevenoaks (direct trains from London Charing Cross, Cannon Street and London Bridge). Both are a short taxi ride from the venue. Coaches can drop off directly at the venue for larger wedding parties.
Surrounded by countryside, historic village and quiet lanes, the venue feels beautifully removed from the everyday, while remaining easy to reach for guests travelling from London and the South East.
Frequently asked questions
Can we legally get married at The Glasshouse?
Yes. The Glasshouse holds license for both indoors and outdoors civil ceremonies in The Buttery Barn and on The Terrace (subject to weather condintions). Our team is going to guide you throught the notice of marriage requirements at your local register office before the ceremony.
How many guests can The Glasshouse hold?
The venue capacity for a civil ceremony is 80 guests. The Glasshouse hosts up to 80 guests for a seated meal and up to 120 for an evening or standing reception. Its versatile layout also looks beautifully proportioned for smaller weddings of 30 or less guests. During your venue tour, our coordinators will recommend the best arrangement for your guest numbers and celebration style.
Is The Glasshouse exclusive use?
Yes. Every wedding at The Glasshouse is exclusive use, you and your guests have the entire venue, ceremony spaces, terrace and grounds to yourselves. Even the lounge bar and restaurant at The Bull close their doors to the general public on wedding days. No other weddings or events run alongside yours.
Do you have on-site accommodation?
Yes. Nine boutique double en-suite bedrooms and the spacious Honeymoon Suite with pamper room facilities are available beside the venue at The Bull Hotel. Rooms can be reserved together as part of your wedding booking, or booked directly by individual guests. Breakfast is included the following morning. The Honeymoon Suite is included in all packages.
Does the weather affect a Glasshouse wedding?
No. With The Buttery Barn, The Glasshouse and its retractable roof, The Terrace and the Lounge Bar all connected under one exclusive-use estate, celebrations move indoors or outdoors as the day needs, whatever the season or weather. The Glasshouse is an all-year-round wedding venue.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book The Glasshouse 12 to 24 months in advance, particularly for Saturday and summer dates. Late-availability dates are released throughout the year for couples planning on a shorter timescale. We will have plenty of time to plan and organise your wedding even if it is booked 3 months in advance.
